My new favorite adventure hat is simply the bomdiggity! Heres why I think you need one for yourself.
Everybody needs an adventure hat, right?
Back when we lived in the Texas panhandle, we often saw people wearing hats.
But they were mostly ball caps, worn at sporting events.
We also saw lots of construction crews wearing hardhats for safety on the job.
Of course, Western hats were a common sight, considering the fact thar we lived in farming and ranching country.
But, when we later moved to the Texas hill country, I noticed people were wearing lots of other styles, and they all seemed to me like they were indicative of something going on behind the scenes.
And I wanted in on it.
That’s when I decided that everyone needs an adventure hat, so I bought my first one – at Luckenbach.
And now, I’ve got a pretty good collection of my own.

My New Favorite
A few months ago, I was planning a quick adventure to Galveston with my middle daughter and grandson, and I wanted a hands-free hat that could withstand a good ocean breeze and would protect me from the coastal sun, but not so useful-looking that it wasn’t super-cute up on my head.
That’s how I found this one.

Everyday Adventure Hat
This hat was perfect for the beach, but I somehow couldn’t stop wearing it even after I got back to Dallas.
It’s soooo comfortable.
And it’s also perfect to slip on when I haven’t yet done my hair, but Mike wants us to take an early morning walk over to our nearest Starbucks.
In fact, I’ve noticed that this hat has become the adventure hat I reach for first.
I think that’s because I feel like I’m doing something just a touch adventurous, no matter where I’m going when I’m wearing it.

Why You Need One
One day, I was wearing my hat while shopping, and two different people stopped to ask me where I got it.
One was going to Colorado next week, she said, and could really use an adventure hat like mine.
A couple of weeks ago, I went with some friends to a farm in East Texas where we picked buckets of blueberries in the hot sun. One of the ladies asked me where I had gotten my adventure hat and has since bought one for her upcoming vacation in Montana.
It happens every single time I wear it.
But, not only do you need this hat so you’ll draw a few sweet compliments, but it’s also got UV protection built in.
We all know how much we need more sun protection, right?
Also, I don’t want to forget to mention how this hat folds easily into your luggage, or for tucking into your purse.
But there’s still another reason why you need this hat.

It’s a Mindsetter
In this day of trendsetters and influencers galore, what we really need is a mindsetter here and there.
That’s exactly what this hat does.
It sets your mind on an intentionally adventurous track.
And you know what I am always shouting from the hot rooftops over here at Texas Over Fifty?
I encourage Texans Over Fifty to live with a spirit of intentional adventure so we can think about ourselves a little and about every other good thing in life a lot!
So, if you buy an adventure hat like mine, I sure would love to see a pic of you wearing it – on vacation or at the grocery store, at the post office or on a dreamy trip of a lifetime.
Because I have a hunch you’ll be wearing and enjoying this hat as much as I have.
