25 Scriptures to Get Through This and Be Better For It

Like the line that divided our days into increments before and after 9-11, life has now become measured by what we remember before Covid-19 and how much has changed in the months after. Where do you turn when times are hard? To whom do you go for strength to get through this kind of turmoil? How do you keep going when you feel like giving up? Is there any hope that we can get through this and actually be better for it on the other side? Try reading these encouraging scriptures to help get you through.

Signs of the Times

These are such hard times, aren’t they? One thing happening after the other. Some of us have lost a loved one. Others of us haven’t gotten to see the ones we love in way too long. For most of us, these difficult days have been a mixed bag of both struggle and serenity, but even the good days look different than the way a good day looked to us before.
Then, just as things were beginning to look up, riots have broken out and protesters have taken to the streets over a completely different tumultuous topic than the one with which we were already consumed.

25 Encouraging Scriptures

I’ve been learning to trust God’s word for my whole life. I started memorizing verses after my second grade Sunday School teacher showed our whole class how to do it.
On the first Sunday of our new school year, the teacher handed us a bookmark with a verse she had chosen just for each student. The verse began with the first letter of our names.
Mine was Matthew 5:5: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
The verse was quickly memorized, and our minds were instantly quickened to the personal nature of the very words of God.
Here are 25 verses that might speak to your heart in the same way. God wants us to trust him. He cares for us enough that he even wants us to cast all our cares upon him. The One who created heaven and earth promised us that he is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. He will help us get through this and a whole lot more.
